roses, mothers, prayers

Today at church we had wonderful sharing about mothers, and when I got back to my office after the early service and coffee hour, I found the bouquet of roses below which had magically migrated from the kitchen table to my desk.

The smell of home-grown roses never cease to amaze me. If I could some how dwell in the light purple-pink rose, surely I would be in heaven. I could not stop burying my nose in its soft petals and breathing in its fragrance.

Today we gave thanks for our mothers, and all the myriad ways our mothers have loved us and cared for us. So I came home and found a couple of pictures of my mother, who I loved and who I miss, especially on this day. Pray for us, Mom!
