Since ever masters rower turns a new age on January 1 each year, I'm now FIFTY rowing years, whoooo hoooo!!!!!! I had decided in the fall to have a good "run up" to my birthday in October. My friend Liz Hart has agreed to partner with me to do this. My injury put me behind for a couple of months, but now the calendar has changed and I feel ready to go.
On retreat at Mt. Calvary last week, I was reflecting about all of this and realizing I have the best of both worlds...the church calendar and the secular calendar. Epiphany, New Year and the changing of the calendar, tomorrow the Baptism of Jesus, and the first day of weights at Gold's. What could be better?
