The other day our new coach Deirdre talked to us about where to place our thumbs on our feathering hands. Such a small thing, really, but for some of us, for me, a huge change.
I've been in that mode lately where the seemingly smallest suggestion or idea brings forward a vlrtual flood of new understanding. Thomas Keating, the founder of the Centering Prayer movement, might put this in the category of "open heart." It is not something one can make happen. It is a gift to be savored, cherished, thankful for.
I don't usually think too much about my left thumb. But for now I do!
