Arrival

After many hours and travel legs, I arrived at Mariya uMama weThemba Monastery Thursday afternoon. The traveling mercies were with me...two fun Rhodes students helped me get to my destination, where the brothers welcomed me and fed me just as Benedict asked. What a wonderful homecoming to a place I have never been!

Today, after a deep sleep, I have explored some of the monastery property, glimpsed the Indian Ocean from the hilltop, and sunk into the familiar chant of the Camaldoli breviary, which I learned at my beloved Mt. Calvary. I also toured the school and met the staff. Tomorrow, town, but only after another healing sleep!
