Today Lydia and I rowed the pair. We love the pair. We love the way we row together. Which is not always the best, or the prettiest, but we love it. Beverlee went sailing by us in her single and we tried to race her, and ended up laughing hysterically since we were not able to really catch her.
There's something about the pure joy of being out on the water, not worrying about anything other than the pure enjoyment of the new day and of being out with a good friend and trying to feel what we are doing together. I do understand when people say that being out on the water is their church. Rowing with my teammates saves me every single day; makes me whole, healed, happy, healthy, all those "h" words that are connected to what God desires for each of us.
Now if we could just fix our "tick tock timing" and let the boat run out. Luckily, there's always tomorrow!
