This is the sign outside our convention center, and as I walked in the heat this morning, I could not help but wonder if the sign portends the temperature of this week's proceedings.
Thankfully, calmness and cool heads were much in evidence today. Now I know what General Convention veterans mean: this gathering makes others I have attended pale in comparison.
Everything is big: the legislative rooms, the video screens, the lines, the exhibit halls. And the Convention Center itself...vast is the only word I can come up with.
I am following the proceedings of World Missions; of the Anglican Covenant proceedings fall to this committee's purvue, and Friday evening is the time set for those hearings. Stay tuned and I will report the temperature again!
